The story of Jim:

Born and raised in Springfield, Missouri, Jim made his move to LA in 1993 to attend the Musician's Institute. After completing the one-year technical school and graduating with honors, he entered the local music scene, playing just about every medium-sized venue in Los Angeles, including The Whiskey, The Coconut Teazer, The Gig, 14 Below, Rusty's Surf Ranch, and Scruffy O'Shea's. He performed in a variety of bands, from the edgy rock of Brooding Angel to the straight-ahead jazz of Dr. Evil. Finally, Jim settled in for a haul as co-singer songwriter of the funk-folk-rock-jam band, Wobblestone.

After that band broke up, he decided to go it alone. Grinding different styles into a smooth paste, he forged ahead with this own eclectic sound, though with mixed results. Without the benefit of go-go dancers or even a DJ, the LA clubs weren't entirely receptive, so he spent most of his time in coffee houses.

He took his leave in December of 2001, moving back to Missouri to record his first full-length album, Music in the Modern Idiom. He now resides in Springfield, Missouri again, where he continues his sonic onslaught as lead guitarist for Seagreens, as well as a duo with cellist Nick Hansen.
